Vice Chancellor of Nepal Academy Dr Jagman Gurung on Saturday stressed the need for making Gurukul education more qualitative for the development of Sanskrit literature. "Education is imperative for the development of the country. There is a need to put reform measures in Nepal's education system," he said while handing out Baiyakaran Nepal Memorial Award each to Dr Rishiram Pokharel and Swami Ramananda Giri amid a programme here. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
On the occasion, Swami Giri viewed that Gurukul could be a platform to save our religion and culture in the context when the country's new generation was forgetful of own religion and culture.
Likewise, Dr Pokharel shared his contributions to the development of Gurukul education.
