Government's enrollment campaign gaining momentum



The government’s campaign to enroll as many as possible out-of-school children into the schools is ebing strengthened.

The cabinet had urgefully requested on Tuesday the citizens to find at least one child who is out of school from their community and enroll them into the school being the voluntary guardians. About 3 % of children in Nepal do not have access to school due to various seen and unseen problems. This is only the data that has been recorded.

The Ministry for Education, Sceince and Technology is going to start the Enrollment drive from April 15. The aim is to increase the enrollment rate to 97.2 % in the new academic session.

 Prime minister KP Sharma Oli is all set to kick-start this campaign by enrolling one out of school child from Jumla in the Karnali Province on April 28. This year’s theme for children’s enrollment is: “Compulsory and Free Basic Education: Our Collective Desire.
