​ Fire-ravaged school building gets new face



Myagdi, March 4 (RSS): The building of Balmandir Primary School at Beni municipality-4, Dandakhet that was ravaged by fire two years ago has seen a new face. 

The ten-room building was reconstructed at the investment of around Rs 10.29 million aided by Global Education for All Foundation of South Korea, Beni municipality and locals. 

Ram Prasad Sharma, school principal, expressed happiness over the reconstruction of the school noting it has ended a pitiable situation to teach students under tents. 

Two years ago, the eight-room school building was turned into ashes after a short circuit. 

Principal Sharma further shared the Korean Foundation had aided Rs 4 million, community provided Rs 3.55 million and the Beni municipality extended Rs 2.8 million for the rebuild of school structure. 

As many as 154 students are pursuing their study in the school. School's ex-student Sangeeta Karki Kunwar and Binod Kunwar initiated the effort to bring the Foundation's aid for reconstruction of the school building. 

Foundation Chair Jung T Yong and Beni municipality Mayor Hari Kumar Shrestha jointly inaugurated the school building on Sunday.
