Kathmandu, 10 Jestha: The discrimination in education on the basis of son and daughter is still prevalent in the Southern region of Rupandehi and Kapilvastu. The local are sending their sons to private schools whereas the daughters are being sent to public school.
Babita Biswokarma living in Rupandehi Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality is studying in Tenuhawa Community School in grade 10. She has three younger brothers and a younger sister. Her all three younger brothers; Suraj, Suresh and Dinesh are studying in private school while she along with her sister, Kabita, are studying in public school. She said that she is unknown about the reason behind it. She is only an example from the Tenuha Community School. There is still the existence of such issues in the Southern region of Rupendehi and Kapilvastu district.
