Kathmandu, February 13 - Ambassador of India to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri inaugurated a newly constructed building of Shree Sharada Higher Secondary School in Sindhupalchowk today.
The building was constructed with the financial assistance of TATA Trust and Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha.
Reconstructed by TATA Trust in partnership with Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha as a part of Nepal Earthquake Rehabilitation Initiative, the building is earthquake-resilient and disabled-friendly. The April 2015 earthquakes had damaged the school building.
“It was quite unfortunate that many people lost their lives and the country suffered a huge loss in the 2015 earthquakes. However, this gave TATA Trust an opportunity to intervene beyond India and extend assistance to earthquake victims in Nepal,” said BS Taraporevala, senior adviser of Tata Trust.
Similarly, Ambassador Puri talked about ages of friendship between Nepal and India and the mutual respect both countries have for each other.
