Kathmandu- The effort and plan of Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokherel to make the different body (institution) for Technical education could not be effective. Hence, it is decided to start the programs of technical education under Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
The activities of CTEVT is not effective, concluded Minister Pokherel. Thus, Mr Pokherel advocated for different body or ministry for technical education.
However, the Council of Ministers decided to combine 'Education Department', 'Educational Manpower Development Center' and 'Informal Education Center' and keep only two departments, 'Education and Human Resource Development Center' and 'Curriculum Development Center'. However, it has made the decision to start the program under CTEVT itself.
After such situation, the meeting of CTEVT held on Tuesday under the leadership of Minister Pokherel decided to establish state offices in all seven provinces.
As per the structure of Federalism, the decision was made for the establishment of CTEVT offices in all seven provinces. For this, there was discussion on probable studies, an arrangement of law and policy for the establishment of State Offices.
As per the structure of Federalism, the format of other bodies was ready. However, Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) had not prepared its format.
At present, Central Office of CTEVT is in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur whereas Bharatpur, Itahari and Kohalpur are its regional offices. Under CTEVT, there are National Skill Testing Committee, Office of the Controller of Examination and Technical Training Committee.
