Kathmandu, Nov 15 (RSS): The 6th World Assembly of the Global Campaign for Education commences on November 16 through November 18 under the theme 'transforming public education systems for quality, inclusion and justice'.
As many as 250 representatives of civil society organizations, education campaigners, and youth advocates from over 100 countries are taking part in the conference.
It was informed at a press conference that the assembly will discuss, reflect and collectively plan according to an ambition and transformative vision, committed to the full realization of the human rights of education for all.
United Nations Deputy Secretary General Ms J Mohammed will deliver key note speech in the assembly around the education crisis, SDG4 and the role of youth and civil society. Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali is set to inaugurate the assembly amidst a programme on Friday.
Visiting UN Deputy Secretary Mohhamed is also scheduled to have a meeting with the Prime Minister. Since the World Education Forum in Dakar in 1999, the movement has grown significantly to include regional and global campaigns and achieving change through the mobilization of citizens and civil society.
The movement is not only collaboratively accelerating the public education agenda worldwide but also influences the direction of education policy and delivery from national member country to the highest political level.
