Education consultancy and training programmes also suspended

The government has decided to suspend the training conducted by the educational institutions as well as programmes run by consultancies on the heels of suspension of the Secondary Education Examination and the prescheduled examinations of universities.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology gave out this information in the context of implementing the decision of the COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control High Level Coordination Committee. The committee on Wednesday decided on a raft of measures including suspension of SEE and the university examination as a measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. 

The Ministry has stated that all the examinations conducted under the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) and the universities that are under way at present and that have been scheduled for the coming days have been suspended until further notice. 

Classes at all types of child development centre, basic and secondary school, educational institutions and universities operated by the governmental community and private sectors would be closed until April 12, it is stated in a press release issued by Ministry's spokesperson Deepak Sharma.

The Ministry stated that the programmes run by the training centres and institutions in the government, community and private sector as well as those operated by the private consultancies were also suspended till April 12.

Likewise, all types of programmes like training, seminar, symposium, conference and meeting run by the national and international non-governmental organisations have been ordered closed until April 12.
