Kathmandu, March 1 (RSS): The national science, technology and innovation policy draft committee has submitted its report to Minister for Education, Science and Technology on Friday.
A ministerial decision on September 25, 2018 had formed a nine-member draft committee coordinated by Prof Dr Dineshraj Bhuju to prepare the draft.
The policy draft has proposed to set up an international development research centre, a multi-disciplinary lab, science education and new promotion centre in each province.
Receiving the report, Minister Girirajmani Pokharel said that the science and technology should be taken as a power and country would pave a way for the development through science.
He reiterated, "Science and technology should be linked to lifestyle. Science and technology should be exploited for the greater good of the country as well as the social, cultural transformation."
Committee coordinator Bhuju said that the policy was introduced as an umbrella one for all the sectors relating to the fields as agriculture, forest, biodiversity, environment, health, energy, physical infrastructure, and communications.
