Kathmandu, Oct 4 (RSS): Deputy Prime Minister Iswar Pokharel has said the Bill on Diploma Engineers Council would be presented before the parliament at the earliest.
DPM Pokharel said this while inaugurating the two-day international conference on technical and vocational education organized by the Diploma Engineers Association Nepal (DEAN). He expressed government’s commitment to establish the Council for further professional enhancement of diploma engineers.
Technical and vocational education is the government's prime priority, he said, adding, "Education is 'key' to development while and technical and vocational education is 'master key'.
On the occasion, DEAN Chairperson Kameswor Prasad Singh said the conference would focus on developing strategies for realizing government's goal of producing 5,000 competent human resource in coming five years.
As many as 500 representatives from all seven provinces along with delegates from India, China, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Bhutan, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Fiji are taking place in the conference.
