Designers of Schools in Solukumbu awarded in Australia


Solukhumbu, Jestha 7; Australian Himalayan Foundation and Engineers were awarded best designer’s award for designing school building in Solukhumbu. The Himalayan foundation was awarded for best design in the opera house, Sydney on Thursday. Rural Education and Environment  Development Center (REED Nepal) had reconstructed five schools of Solukhumbu damaged in 2072 earthquake with the help of Australian Himalayan Foundation. 

Out of five schools built in Solukhumbu one schools were built for differently able children says Ujjawal Amatya, Managing Director of REED Nepal. 

Australian engineer who was awarded said it was nice to erect long-lasting earthquake resistant building from the social perspective. 

In the award distribution ceremony engineer David Francis said it was a great inspiration to work in school reconstruction along with Principal, Teachers and local guardians of school.
REED Nepal has constructed Garma Secondary School, Wasa Khali Secondary School, Singha Kali School, Kalika School and Jana Jagriti School in Solukhumbu with the help of Australian Himalayan Foundation. 
Solukhumbu Director of REED Nepal Kapil Dev Puri said that there are altogether 20 classrooms in 5 schools constructed.
