Continuing Education Program launched in Mahottari


Matihani (Jaleshwor) Falgun 23: Continuous Education Program has officially begun in Mahottari from Wednesday.

Though the program was started from Falgun 15, an event conducted in Jaleshowr and Matihani Municipality officially marked the beginning of the program in Mahottari District. Thulobabu Dahal, District Education Officer of Mahottari, said that continuous education program will be conducted for 4 months from the community study centers of the district.

He added that 211 classrooms center of the district have more than 4,000 people illiterate people involved in it and the aim is to make them all literate. He informed that the program was started on Falgun 15 but was started officially on Wednesday. He informed that the highest number of a center was 42 which was kept in the district headquarters, Jaleshwor.

Head of Rajdevi Community Teaching Center Jaleshowr, Gajendra Gupta, said that all people of age group 15 – 60 who were deprived of formal education were made to participate in the class, and only 20 people are kept in a single classroom.

In the classroom, the participants were given knowledge about handling the family and also knowledge regarding cleanliness was given, said the Coordinator of District Coordination Committee and Informal Education Committee Mahottari, Suresh Prasad Singh.

Inaugurating the program launched with the collaboration of Rajdevi Community Reaching Center and Community Teacher Centre Matihani, Coordinator Singh said that this classes helped the people to use mobiles and calculators and also it served a form of enthusiasm for the literates.

He requested that everyone should participate in the classes daily to keep the district clean and fully literate and he emphasized that this was not possible without the help from all people of the district. This type of program would also help the income generating program at the local levels, said Coordinator Singh. The program was inaugurated by handing books, copies and stationery materials to the students who attended the classes daily, by Chief-Guest Suresh Prasad Singh.

The program had participation of Branch-head of Education Office Arunshankar Pathak, Deputy Mayor of Matihani Municipality Sivu Devi, Principal of Rammavi Matihani Chandreshwor Mandal, Principal of Rajkiya Sanskrit Secondary School Ishwori Paudel, Head of Federation of Nepali Journalist Kamlesh Mandal, Deputy head of Nepal Teachers Association Lalbabu Yadav, Ward head of Jaleshwor Municipality Ward no. 2 Barun Dahal, Principal of Ganesh Primary School, Head of Community Teaching Centre Syamkumar Mandal and other distinguished people.
