Minister for Education, Science and Technology Girirajmani Pokharel has said that federal state and local governments should jointly work to improve the quality of education in community schools.
Responding to queries of lawmakers in today's discussion of Appropriation Bill-2076 at the House of Representatives, Minister Pokharel said that it was possible to make education competitive, practical and technology-friendly only through tripartite relations.
He said that student enrollment campaign has been expedited, colour textbook printing task up to basic level schools has been forwarded, adding that arrangement of snacks has been made in schools of 22 districts while reconstruction task of earthquake-damaged schools has been accelerated.
The Education Minister further said that preparation was underway to establish model technical school and medical education commission. He informed the House that budget has been allocated to launch special programme in order to stop brain-drain, increase scholarship to Dalit students, establishment of model schools in all seven states and establishment of Yogmaya University.
