Collective effort stressed for cyber security

Kathmandu, July 28 (RSS): Vice-chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Professor Jeevraj Pokharel, has underscored the need to raise awareness on cyber security to mitigate the risks related to it in Nepal. He said so addressing the closing ceremony of two-day Global Cyber Security Summit held in the capital on Saturday. 

The summit, organized by the Information Security Response Team Nepal (NPCERT), was an event organized for the first time in Nepal expressing solidarity for global effort to fight against cyber crime. 
The summit titled "Building Global Alliance for Cyber Resilience" was aimed at bringing together the experts in the field of cyber security to deliberate on cyber policies, cyber crimes and analysis on the prevailing practices of combating cyber crimes and seeking the best possible ways and means to enhance cyber security in a collective manner among others. 

The participants from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the USA and the UK called for strengthening cooperation among the national and international stakeholders for combating cyber crime. 
More than 200 participants and IT experts representing government agencies, corporate sectors, banks and financial institutions and telecommunications and internet service providers and education sectors attended the event.
