Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Girirajmani Pokhrel says that the examination of class 12 will be conducted. “The examination of Grade 12 will be held on appropriate time. There is no change on the examination module,” he said. With this statement, the minister has removed the confusion regarding the exam of class 12.
Earlier in the parliament, he said that the postponed exams would be taken at the appropriate time and the students could be promoted to the upper semester without the semester-end examination of the university.
There is a debate in the academic arena whether the board should conduct the class 11 exam or not. When asked about the class 11 examination, Minister Pokhrel clarified that the official bodies are yet to discuss the class 11 examination.
Minister Pokhrel also answered an implicit question that many were asking: is the SEE exam canceled? “Parliament will soon pass the Federal Education Act, which will clarify this,” he said.
The cabinet has already decided to recognize the internal assessment as an alternative for SEE exams. “The ministry also directed the National Examination Board to prepare the criteria,” he said. “The school’s assessment will be verified based on the same criteria.”
