Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) has fined Rs 50,000 to Capital College and Research Center (CCRC) for violating the HSEB code of conduct regarding advertising.  Capital College and Research Center is located in Koteshwor.

The committee formed by the HSEB recommended the punishment for the higher secondary school on Sunday.

According to Suprabhat Bhandari, chairman of the Guardian Association of Nepal, CCRC could not give satisfactory explanation to the HSEB for violating the advertisement norm, nor did it apologize for the act.

Monitoring the Valley-based higher secondary schools and plus two colleges on June 25, the HSEB had sought clarifications from 29 institutions for violating the Board´s directive against using hoarding boards to attract students.

Out of which, 17 plus two colleges found violating admission norms and using prohibited means for advertisements had replied to the Higher HSEB that they would follow the board´s directives.

The college authorities had expressed commitment to pull down the hoarding boards and also archive the answer sheets of the entrance exams as per the initial direction of the Board.
