Call to demand cent per cent open vacancy for teachers

Kathmandu, April 9 (RSS): Three students' organisations have called for amendment in some provisions in the ninth amendment of the Education Act, 2028 B.S.  ANNFSU, ANNFSU (Revolutionary) and Nepal Students Union met Chief Whip of the CPN (MC) parliamentary party at Singha Durbar today and handed over a memo in that regard.

They also demanded that the vacancy for teachers should be completely open vacancy, according to ANNFSU-R Vice-chair Surendra Basnet.

The ninth amendment to the Act has deprived 700,000 students who had acquired teachers' license of the right to competition, reads the memo. The memo will be handed over to the chief whips of all the political parties and senior leaders, Basnet added.
