Agriculture University forms talks team

Chitwan, July 24 (RSS): Agriculture and Forestry University, Chitwan, has formed a five-member talks team in order to resolve the dispute surfaced after the University provided affiliation to eight private colleges. Students and professors are in agitation after the executive council meeting provided affiliation to private colleges.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Dr Ishwori Prasad Dhakal, formed the team under the coordination of former registrar of the University, Prof Dr Suryakanta Ghimire, to resolve the problem. Similarly, Prof Dr Nabaraj Devkota, Prof Dr Bhuminanda Devkota, Prof Dr Kalyani Mishra and Prof Dr Arjun Kumar Shrestha are in the talks team. 

The agitation has been launched in the University from July 10 protesting Executive Council meeting's decision of providing affiliation to private colleges. The Council on July 4 had decided to provide affiliation to eight private colleges. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Dhakal said that the team would submit a report along with suggestions for permanent solution of the problems after holding discussion with all sides.
