53rd assembly of , Nepal's oldest and largest University, Tribhuvan University is held on September 9, here in Kathmandu, Nepal. Top officials of Tribhuvan University including Chancellor and chairman of council of Minister-Khil Raj Regmi, Vice-Chancellor-Professor Dr Hira Bahadur Maharjan, Rector Professor Gunanidhi Neupane were present in the assembly.
Addressing the 53rd assembly of the Tribhuvan University on Monday, Chairman Regmi said the education system in Nepal should be compatible with the rapid development of the information technology and its use, socio-economic changes, cultural environment and globalisation and it should produce globally competent manpower.
He urged the University office-bearers to formulate programmes to boost quality in education. He further emphasized that "All colleges need to work for boosting quality education and ensuring people's access to higher education and also making it more systematic,"
Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Professor Dr Hira Bahadur Maharjan, said that the University was working to develop itself as a centre of excellence through quality teaching, learning and researches.
He vowed to make, the timeframe from student's admission to results would be made more systematic.
Rector Professor Gunanidhi Neupane said the Tribhuvan University which has established its identity across the globe bears more than 78 percent responsibility in the higher education of Nepal.
53rd assembly of TU approved the 53rd annual report, proposed budget and some amendments on Tribhuvan University Teachers and Employees Service Rule 2050.
