Surkhet, Feb 11 (RSS): Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Jumla was a matter of pride in the health sector of Province-6.
While inaugurating the newly constructed 300- bed hospital building of the institute here today, PM Deuba shared that with the operation of the institute, the health sector will achieve a new step. The institute building was constructed at the total cost of Rs 750 million.
He further stressed on operating the various courses including MBBS, midwifery approved by the Senate. He also directed the health minister to make necessary arrange to run MBBS classes soon.
On the occasion, Minister for Health Deepak Bohara said that Jumla will be developed as the health capital of province-6. He committed to running services to the patients of kidney, cancer and spinal injuries in the hospital.
National planning commission member Dr Geeta Bhakta Joshi said that the NPC will prioritize Karnali while allocating the budget.
Lawmaker Naresh Bhandari and vice chancellor at the institute Dr Rajendra Raj Wagle among others called for support to run the institute effectively.
The hospital director Dharma Raj Gosain shared that 25 specialist doctors and 14 MBBS doctors are in the service in the institute.
On the occasion, PM Deuba launched the institute's publication ' Journal of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences'.
