23rd International Conference of Nepal English Language Teachers' Association (NELTA) held in Kathmandu



Kathmandu, Feb 17 (RSS): Representatives of various organizations working for the promotion of English language have underscored the need of utilizing technology for easing the teaching-learning process. 

The participants at the 23rd International Conference organized by Nepal English Language Teachers' Association (NELTA) in the capital city said teaching methodology could now incorporate the blogs, internet and Wikipedia. 

As many as 250 experts from Nepal, India, Pakistan, Qatar, Bangladesh, the UK, the US, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Switzerland, Australia, South Korea, and South Africa made presentations on English language teaching during the conference that lasted for three days. 

Training coordinator of NELTA, Sarita Dewan, expressed the view that professional development could be ensured under the programmes relating to teachers. Last year, more than 1,000 were trained for the development of English language teaching, she informed. 

NELTA has expanded its network to 51 districts across the country. 

English teacher at Mahendra Ratna Campus, Tahachal, Hari Atreya, pointed out the need of quality training on English language.
