12th Nepal International Book Fair opens

Kathmandu, August 10: CPN (UML) leader and former Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that life-changing books should be published. 

Inaugurating the 21st Nepal International Book Exhibition at local Bhrikutimandap today, he underlined the need of books that are capable of ushering social and practical change. 

He noted that a reading culture has developed among the youths these days and the state should promote this culture. "The state should support affordable book publishing by not imposing unnecessary tax on books," he suggested. 

The book exhibition is organized by the Federation of Nepal Books and Stationery Business. There are 60 stalls in the exhibition that will run till August 16. 
Federation general secretary Nawanidhi Panta said the exhibition has been organized for the promotion of reading culture. RSS
