The Rotary South Asia Conference on Literacy will be held from March 1 to 3, 2012 in Kathmandu, Nepal. This meet will dis- cuss the state of literacy, the lacunae and the opportunities, amongst many other issues, to work towards promoting literacy and education. A line up of leading lights in the field, government officials, politicians, celebrities, NGOs, project partners and funding agencies will help identify the role of Rotary in enhancing literacy in South Asia and make the deliberations all encompassing.

This is a meet which will have an action oriented approach where the participants will be able to discuss problems, share success stories, come up with solutions and figure out resources available. This is a conference for every Rotarian and a must for President, President-elect of each club as well as for the District Governor, Governor-elect, Governor-nominee and the Literacy Chair and Foundation Chair of each District. In fact, anyone who wishes to be a part of a more literate and a better educated South Asia should be there. Do start promoting the conference in your district immediately.

The venue for the conference is Hotel The Hyatt Regency which has excellent conference facilities. The weather in Kathmandu will be at its best, making it an opportunity for Rotarians and their families to go on excursions, both before and after the conference. Registration charges are only US $99 up to February 15, 2012 and thereafter it will be US $125.

Accommodation in hotels in Nepal is extremely reasonable and so is the airfare (also a combination of surface and air) making this a not-to-miss event.

Friends, the President of Rotary International, Kalyan Banerjee and Binotaji will be present for the entire duration of the conference and I am sure, you too will be there with your spouse. Say `Yes' to Literacy in South Asia. Say `Yes' to Kathmandu!
