Kathmandu University School of Arts (SoA)—one of the seven Schools of Kathmandu University is organizing one-day Meet & Greet Fair at the SoA complex in Hattiban, Lalitpur on Sunday .
The event, according to the organisers, this event will provide details on SoA programmes for visiting students, along with thorough on-the-spot counseling.In addition, artwork by the SoA’s Centre for Art and Design will be on display,along with portrait-making demos by Fine Arts students and faculty.
The fair is set to bring prospective students to the SoA premises to give them a chance to learn about the undergraduate programmes on offer at the School. It will also be a platform for them to interact with faculty members to help them make an informed decision regarding their future academic pursuits.
“Kathmandu University has always strived to promote social sciences and nurture an academic milieu,” said Dr Sagar Raj Sharma, Dean of KU SoA. “Despite an encouraging flow of students over the years, we have come to realise that our courses should be made visibleto a larger audience,informing them of the different options available to them at KU. This Meet & Greet Fair, I believe, will be an important step in serving that purpose.”
Likewise, performances by the Department of Music, and a display of audio-visual material by Media Studies students are also on the programme list and creative activities of students of Economics and Community Development will be on display. The event will also provide free medical care to attendees, via a medical team supported by the KU School of Medical Sciences.
The Meet & Greet event also represents an opportunity to inform the public of the KU’s return to normalcy after the flooding in August, informed KU SoA adding, all of the programmes have now resumed and are running smoothly after the brief disruption, and planning is underway to equip the Hattiban complex with more resilient infrastructure.
