The 35th episode of EduTalk will feature an interactive session with Dr. Yogendra Man Shrestha, Asst. Professor, of Mahendra Ratna Multiple Campus, Illam. And, in this very episode, Mr. Shrestha will give us insights about the horticulture and floriculture program in Nepal. 

The discussion will revolve around the following topics:

  • Scope and career prospects of horticulture and floriculture program in Nepal;
  • Curricular details, enrollment criteria, fee structure, and scholarship opportunities;
  • Research prospects of Floriculture and Horticulture;
  • Exploratory enterprises and further education.

Commercial horticulture includes the production of fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants of all types. Similarly, floriculture, a branch of horticulture, concentrates on the production and management of ornamental crops. These include bulbs, cut flowers and foliage, houseplants, dried flowers, and grasses.

Floriculture and Horticulture programs in Nepal aims to offer students the opportunity to prepare themselves for a wide variety of careers, entrepreneurship, exploratory enterprises or continue education in the related field.
