Nepal Astronomical Society calls for applications for the 8th National Astronomy Olympiad 2021. The olympiad has been conducted since 2014 with an aim to identify and promote the talents of the school level students. Students from grades 8 to 12 will be able to apply this year for the program.

The National Astronomy Olympiad will be organized in two levels, namely, junior and senior. Students from grades 8-10 can apply for junior and students from grades 11-12 can apply for senior level.

The first phase/selection examination of the Olympiad will be held in Itahari, Janakpur, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Surkhet, and Dhangadhi on Saturday, April 10, 2021 (Chaitra 28, 2077) from 12 noon to 2 pm. Interested students can submit the application form to the coordinators and members of the respective provinces or email it directly to the office of the National Astronomical Society at naso.office@gmail.com until the 31st of March 2021.

Students from the respective provinces will be included in the second phase (national phase) on the basis of their performance in the provincial phase. Similarly, the best performers of the second phase will be included in the third and final phase. On completion of the third phase of evaluation, the participating students will be recommended for the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiads to be conducted this year.

Students can access the application forms and related information from the official website of the Nepal Astronomical Society.
