BPKIHS discontinued offering PCL Nursing program.
Certificate Nursing Programs was started in BPKIHS in 1999. In this academic year (2012) a total of Forty (Thirty-five Nepali and Five SAARC/Non- SAARC) female students will be admitted to the Certificate Nursing Course, leading to the award of Certificate in Nursing degree of BPKIHS.
1. Heavily Subsidized Tuition Fee Scheme (HSTFS):
1.1 Open Category: 16
1.2 Hill District Category: 16
1.3 Dalit: 2
1.4 Daughter of BPKIHS Faculty/Staff: 1
2. Full Tuition Fee Scheme (FTFS)-SAARC/Non-SAARC including Nepali nationals: 5
Note: A candidate cannot choose more than one option among 1(1.2 to 1.4) under Heavily Subsidized Tuition Fee Scheme.
Female candidates who have passed SLC examination with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and with Science and Mathematics as principal subjects in class 10th are eligible to apply to Certificate in Nursing Program.
Eligibility for reserved seats under HSTFS:
a. Hill District Category :
Candidates from the following selected hill districts and passed class 8, 9 and 10 from public schools situated in these districts are eligible for hill district category seats. Selected Hill Districts:
Bajhang, Bajura, Darchula, Dolpa, Humla, Jajarkot, Jumla, Kalikot, Manang, Mugu, Mustang, Rukum, Solukhumbu.
b. Criteria for Dalit Group :
Candidates from Dalit Group as listed in "Hill Tribes and Terai Tribes" by the National Dalit's Commission, Government of Nepal are eligible for the seats allotted to this group.
c. Eligibility Criteria for the BPKIHS Faculty/Staff Seat:
One seat in Certificate Nursing Programme will be filled in by a daughter of BPKIHS Nepali Faculty/Staff who meets eligibility criteria of open category and meets other criteria for BPKIHS Faculty/Staff Seat, on merit basis.
One seat is reserved in all the undergraduate educational programmes at BPKIHS for son & daughter of BPKIHS Nepali Faculty/Staff who have continuously served the Institute for 3 years and are presently serving the institute. The selection of the candidate in this seat will also be completely on the basis of merit of the Entrance Examination. After the selection of the child the staff has to continue his/her services at least for further 4 years if the Institute requires his/her services. In case of failure to comply to this rule, the candidate from faculty/staff seat will have to pay tuition fee as decided by the Institute.
Note: Dalit/Hill District category candidates- A copy of certificate issued by the Commission as well as a verification certificate from the district administration authority of concerned district must be
attached with the application. A certified letter from concerned district education administration is a must for the Public School from where the candidate has studied classes 8, 9 & 10.
The Entrance Examination will be of 11⁄2 hour duration and will have one paper consisting of 100 objective type questions. The question paper will be in English. The distribution of marks will be as follows:
- General Science: 40 marks
- Mathematics: 20 Marks
- English and Knowledge about Health: 40 marks
The general standard of the Entrance Examination will be that of the SLC Examination. No syllabus for the examination has been specifically prescribed by BPKIHS.
No electronic devices (such as calculator, mobile phone, log tables etc.) will be allowed in the examination hall.
