BSW (Bachelor of Social Work Program - TU) program, is a 4-year annual program of TU, which prepares students for entry level practice in social work which is one of the helping professions committed to improving people’s lives. It is a holistic approach of providing knowledge required for practical through theoretical approach, skills development and learning through simultaneous field work and embedding important ethical values through exposure, supervision and continuous self-reflection.
Social Work Education helps change the individual’s personality and can be beneficial to develop positive attitude towards the work. Social workers can be agents of change for the people who are strongly in need of protection, care and guidance. They can assist solve their day-to-day problems and also activitely work for the rights of children, women, youth etc. Social workers may assist people in dealing with their relationships, in solving personal and family problems, or in improving the environment in their community. They also focus on social problems and the individual difficulties that arise from these social problems. These problems may include domestic violence, child abuse, unemployment, poverty or homelenessness, disability, and serious illness.
Most social workers work in organizations or agencies whose missions focus on helping people deal with one of more of these social problems in their lives. The BSW program prepares graduates for service in the social work profession and for advanced studies in social work and related disciplines. The program has been running at UNIVERSAL College since 2069 BS on the morning shift.
