What are the qualifications required to apply in different technical post in Nepalese Army?

There are various types of technical posts in Army. Nepalese citizens can apply for those posts according to their qualifications and interest. Candidates require a standard level of academic qualifications and specific proficiency in related technical field, which are as follows:

1.      Technical Officers.

a.      Doctor (Technical Lieutenant):

  1. MBBS from Tribhuvan University or any other recognized university.
  2. Should be member of the Medical Council.

b.      Dental Surgeon (Technical Lieutenant):

  1. BDS or equivalent with biology as major subject from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university.
  2. Should be member of the Medical Council.

c.       Pharmacists (Technical Lieutenant):

Bachelor in Pharmacy or equivalent from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university.

d.      Deputy nurses (Technical Lieutenant):

  1. Graduation in Nursing from any recognized institution of Nepal government.
  2. Should be member of the Nursing Council.

e.      Dietician (Technical Lieutenant):

Graduation on related subject from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university.

f.        Veterinary Doctor (Technical Lieutenant): BVSC and AH from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university.

g.      Civil Engineer ((Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Civil Engineering (BE) and member of Nepal Engineering Council.

h.      Mechanical Engineer (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Mechanical Engineering (B E, B Sc, B Tech) and member of Nepal Engineering Council.

i.        Electronics Engineer (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Electronic Engineering from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university and member of Nepal Engineering Council.

j.        Electrical Engineer (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Electrical Engineering from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university and member of Nepal Engineering Council.

k.       Electrical and Electronic Engineer (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Electric and Electronic Engineering (B.E, B Sc, B Tech) from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university and member of Nepal Engineering Council.

l.        Chemical Engineer (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Engineering from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university and member of Nepal Engineering Council.

m.    Chemist (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on chemistry from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university.

n.      Textile Engineer (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Textile Engineering from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university and member of Nepal Engineering Council.

o.      Survey Officer (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation or B Sc on Survey Engineering from Tribhuvan University or any recognized university and senior survey training or Graduation on Geography and senior survey training.

p.      Computer System Analysts and Program Analysts (Technical Lieutenant):

  1. Graduation in Computer Science and Engineering from Tribhuvan University or any recognized University with Statistics, Science and Mathematics as major subjects.
  2. Work experience of 1 year in system analysts or computer science.

q.      Computer System Engineer (Technical Lieutenant):

  1. I Sc or Equivalent from Tribhuvan University or any recognized University.
  2. M Sc (Computer Science) or BE (Computer) or BE (Electronics) and member of Nepal Engineering Council.

r.       Pilot (Technical Lieutenant):

  1.  Intermediate level by taking physics as major subject or 'A' level or math's in O level.
  2. CPL (commercial pilot license) from recognized institution.
  3. Priorities are given to those who have taken command training in helicopter or aeroplane.

s.       Aero Nautical Engineer (Technical Lieutenant):

  1. Graduation in Aero Nautical Engineering and member of Nepal Engineering Council or Intermediate from any recognized university and AME license holder in any one of given subjects, i.e., engine, airframe, instrument, radio.
  2. Priority will be given to those who have experience in repair and maintenance of SKY VAN and MI-17.

t.   Flight Dispatcher (Technical Lieutenant):

  1.  Intermediate from any recognized university and FOO / ATC license holder.
  2. Priority will be given to those who have worked in any airlines company as flight dispatcher.

u.  Legal (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Law equivalent from Tribhuvan University or any recognized University.

V.  Photography (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Photography or Graduation on any subject with two years experience in photography.

W. Telecom Engineer (Technical Lieutenant):

  1. Graduation on Electronics and Telecommunication or Graduation on Electronics and Electrical.
  2. Member of Nepal Engineering Council.

Architecture Engineer (Technical Lieutenant): Graduation on Architecture from Tribhuvan University or any recognized University and should be a member of Nepal Engineering Council.

 

2.      Technical Junior Commission Officer (JCOs)

a.      Overseer (Technical Subedar): Certificate level on Architecture Engineering from Tribhuvan University or any other recognized University.

b.      Draftsmen (Technical Subedar): Certificate level on Architecture Engineering from Tribhuvan University or any other recognized University.

c.       Nurse (Technical Subedar): Certificate level in Nursing from any Medical College recognized by Tribhuvan University and should have the membership of Nepal Nursing Council.

d.      Junior Mechanics (Technical Jamdar ): Certificate level in General Mechanics or Automobile Engineering from recognized educational institution.

e.      Electrician (Technical Jamdar): School Leaving Certificate and 2 years training on Electrician from recognized educational institution.

f.        General Mechanics (Technical Jamdar): Certificate level in General Mechanics or School Leaving Certificate with training in Automobile Engineering from recognized educational institution.

g.      Legal (Technical Jamdar): Certificate level in Law from recognized institution.
 

3.      Other Ranks OF Nepalese Army

a.      Priest (Sergeant): Passed eighth class with Sanskrit as major subject of 200 full marks.

b.      Clerk (Corporal): Passed eighth class and should have the certificate of 'Nepali Typing' in computer.

c.       Mechanics(Corporal): School Leaving Certificate with Mechanics training from recognized institution or eighth class passed with 2 years working experience in maintenance field.

d.      Photographer (Technical Corporal): School Leaving Certificate and training on Photography.

e.      Offset Press (Technical Corporal):

  1. School Leaving Certificate or equivalent with 6 months training on related field from recognized institution or SLC with 2 years working experience on related field.
  2. Special priority is given to those having 1 year work experience on handling of Offset Press, Dark Room and Processing.

f.        Mechanics (Technical Corporal): School Leaving Certificate or equivalent with at least 12 months training on general mechanics from recognized institution of Nepal Government.

g.      Electrician (Technical Corporal): School Leaving Certificate or equivalent with at least 1 year training on related field from recognized institution of Nepal Government.

h.      Army Band (Corporal): School Leaving Certificate and able to play 'Bigul', drum, brass band and piper.

i.        Veterinary Technical (Corporal): School Leaving Certificate with training on Veterinary Laboratory.

j.        Computer Technical (Corporal): School Leaving Certificate with training of 3 months each for Office Programming (Word, Excel, Power point, MS DOS, Windows, Access) and Database. A special priority is given to those having the training on Web Page designing and Graphics.

k.       Para Folder (Corporal): Minimum eighth class passed.

l.        Recruit (Male): Fifth class passed.

m.    Recruit (Female): Eighth class passed.
