According to Doti District Education Office (DEO) around 25 private schools are operating in this district breaching the existing rules and regulation.  Around two thousands students are studying in such schools.

According to District Education Officer Ganesh Bahadur Singh said eight private schools are being run without registration whereas three others are operating classes higher than what they were approved for. Most of such schools are operating primary and lower secondary classes. Singh lamented that the schools have time and again ignored the directives and warnings issued by the DEO.

The DEO had published a list of the rule-breaching institutions in beginning of the academic session two months ago, urging either to abide by the rules or shut down the schools.

"But, neither did they pay any heed to us, nor did the guardians stop enrolling their kids at such schools," Singh added.

Some guardians, however, have expressed their ignorance about the legal status of such schools while getting their children admitted but now they cannot stop their children going to school."
