Tribhuvan University (TU) of Nepal and Lovely Professional University (LPU) of Punjab, India have renewed their collaboration for four years.
The TU and LPU have renewed their agreement for promoting innovative and research-oriented quality education for the benefit of students of both the countries.
“As before, a new collaboration will also facilitate academic research, student and faculty exchange, and high technology transfer between the two universities,” reads a statement issued by LPU on Thursday.
A five-member delegation comprising of TU Rector Professor Sudha Tripathi, Professor Bhupa Prasad Dhamala, Professor Ridish Kumar Pokharel, Professor Raj Kumar Pokharel and Administrative Officer Binod Dangol visited LPU to sign the agreement.
The visitors met LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal, Pro-Chancellor Rashmi Mittal, Vice Chancellor Dr Ramesh Kanwar, Director at the Division of International Affairs Aman Mittal and other senior officials and held discussions for mutual benefit and the renewal of collaboration.
After signing the deal, Professor Tripathi said, “Although we do not have many partners, yet we have gone for collaboration with LPU in India. In fact, we share India's culture and knowledge, and there are many senior staff members on TU's rolls who have completed one or other part of their education from India.”
LPU Chancellor Mittal said, “Under this renewed MoU, talented Nepali students/faculty will get more opportunities through exchange programs.”
Collaboration between TU and LPU was first signed in December 2013.
