Tribhuvan University (TU), the country’s oldest and the largest university, is all set to publish results with marks obtained. In its results, the varsity established in 1959 AD used to mention whether examinees had passed or failed and they had to wait for more than a week to get mark sheets.
The Office of the Controller of Examination (OCE) at Balkhu is in the final stage to prepare a system that will give out the results with the students’ scores.
Ramesh Joshi, deputy controller, OCE, said they will publish the results under the new system within August itself.
He said, “Technical preparations are in the final stage. The students, who were expecting their result in August, will get their results with the marks they have obtained in various subjects.” Examinees of School Leaving Certificate (SLC) and Plus Two can know their scores on the day of publication of results through SMS and websites by inputing their date of birth and exam symbol number.
According to Joshi, the exam controller’s office has been holding talks with the TU on whether to add the date of birth or the registration number with the symbol number to get marks. With its website — www.tuexam.edu.np — the TU had been assigning the private sector to provide the results through their sites. Now, however, it is activating its own website. TU has been running classes for various subjects in Bachelors, Masters, MPhil and doctorate levels.
It has made arrangements to hand over the technical works of website activation and uploading students’ marks on the site to the Pulchowk-based Institute of Engineering. TU is yet to publish the results of Bachelor of Education (third year) and Master of Arts (second year).
