Teachers demand the Facilities and Services as per Labor Act

Kathmandu, 22nd Jestha: Institutional School Teachers Union has demanded services and facilities according to Education and Labor Act. 

Institutional School Teachers Union, Morang on Monday organized a press meet in which they demanded the need of appointment letter and also appealed to get services as community schools teachers. 

There should be the same academic calendar for the institutionalized school of province 1, while implementing textbook , specific subject teacher should recommend,’ secretary of Union, Prem Sashtri said, ‘ Teachers employed in institutionalized(Private) school should be provided with various services and facilities like subsidies, provident funds, treatments costs etc. The Union has also warned that if their demand is not addressed in time, then, they will be bound to do the movement. 

The founding members are not being able to provide the services and facilities as per the Labor Act, 2074, to the teachers employed in a school.  
In the Labor Act, there are the provisions of provident fund, subsidies, expenses for medical treatment, life Insurance and employment agreement. However, institutional schools are not being successful in implementing those provisions as per the Labor Act. 

The Chairperson of the Association of Institutional School Teachers, PABSON, Morang, Sunil Paudel informed that the provision stated in Labor Act is beyond the capability of private schools hence, it won’t be implemented.
