A group of angry students today vandalised Mahendra Bindeshwori Multiple Campus in Rajbiraj. They wrecked the campus because they could not fill the exam forms on the final date today as the account section was padlocked by agitating teachers.

Yesterday, part-time teachers at the campus, agitating over delayed salary, had padlocked the account section.

While the campus administration accused the students of showing their ugly side by vandalising college property, student leader Manbir Rajak described it as compulsion.

“It was the last date to fill the exam forms and the college administration was doing nothing to end the padlock. We were forced to resort to vandalism,” he argued, accusing the teachers of trying to play with their future.

Campus Chief Dr Chirinjivilal Dev, rued the teachers’ lack of patience, adding that he had requested them to wait for some more time since the campus was facing fund crunch.

He condemned the students’ vandalism saying the campus administration had been mulling granting more time to the students to fill the mandatory exam forms.

The teachers said the college has enough students and fees should suffice to pay teachers, so the campus chief’s claim does not hold any water.
