Students return to home weeping after their school turns into ashes

Teaching learning activities at Jyoti Secondary School, Majhuwagadhi Municipality-12 in Khotang district have been halted after the school was destroyed in fire.
The teaching learning activities were not possible until the next alternative after an unidentified group set the school on fire Monday night. Currently, the school has 261 students.
Principal Tika Bahadur Shrestha said that students, who came to school on Tuesday, had to return to home with tearful eyes after they saw their school building turned into ashes.
Nine rooms including class rooms, administration and library of the school were completely destroyed with the fire, causing a loss of property worth around Rs 25 million, said police. Cause behind the fire is yet to be known. The school was established on 2046 BS.
Guardians claimed the burning of school might have been perpetrated in a planned manner as fire started from all sides of the school at the same time. The school is the model school in the district, as it had started teaching in English medium since 2065 BS. RSS
