Students forced to study on rivulet bank

Students belonging to Dimag primary school at Badagaun VDC -2 of Gulmi district are forced to pursue their education on the bank of Badighat rivulet, however the school has its own RCC building.

Students are compelled to get education sitting on the humid floor on the bank of the rivulet citing it is difficult for the students from farther areas to reach the school on foot.

The school has started constructing its building on the bank of the rivulet keeping the convenience of students in mind. The situation there was that students have been compelled to attend the classes under mango tree for the past six months. The school had constructed a tin corrugated makeshift in 2066 BS on the bank of the rivulet.

It will take at least two months for the completion of building construction, school management committee informed. The school was established in 2051 BS by mobilising local people. Former Chairman of the Committee Thamman Bahadur Kumal said they are going to shift the school to the suitable place when many students have started abandoning the school.

The school has total four teachers and has the Early Childhood Development Centre.Most of the children pursuing education in the school belongs to Kumal and Magar ethnic groups, informed local journalist Lok Prasad Chhantyal.
