The senate of Tribhuvan University is going to held on August 15 (tomorrow). Major students’ unions today decided to raise several issues — fee hike, Free Students Union polls, affiliations to private colleges, and maintenance of academic calendar, among others — during the senate meeting.

A meeting of major students’ unions including Nepal Students Union, All Nepal National Free Students Unions, All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary and other student wings affiliated to Madhes-based parties and other political forces decided to take up the issues with TU Senate for further discussion.

Representatives of NSU, ANNFSU and ANNISU-R will represent students in the TU Senate. The meeting has also decided to draw TU’s attention to implementation of agreements TU had reached with students’ unions in the past.
