Quake-resilient building handed to Gadgade Basic School

Bhaktapur, June 30: A two-storey earthquake-resilient school building constructed with support of two international French organisations was handed to the Gadgade Basic School at Nagarkot of Chagunarayan Municipality-6, Bhaktapur.


The school lost its building in the 2015 April earthquake and the new building was constructed at a cost of Rs 7 million.


French Ambassador for Nepal Mr Yves Carmona transferred the ownership of the building to school amidst a programme here on Friday. On the occasion school principal Purna Tamang said the construction of a new building would help attract more students to the school where 150 students are currently studying.


Chagunarayan Municipality mayor Som Mishra, Chief District Officer Arjun Bahadur Rayamajhi and Siddhartha Raj Pandey, Chief of Delta Core that facilitated the construction, sought the government's special focus on the construction of safe structure. RSS
