Kathmandu, July 9: Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, Gopalman Shrestha, has said that the government has made arrangements for different facilities to ensure conflict victim from Dalit and marginalized community are not deprived of education.
Responding to queries raised during a discussion in today's Legislature-Parliament meeting on different topics related to the ministry under Appropriation Bill-2074 BS, DPM and Education Minister Shrestha expressed determination that the government would implement the 'One School One Library campaign' immediately.
He said that action would be taken against those community found collecting fees illegally from students under any pretext, while informing that the reconstruction of 9,333 schools, damaged in Gorkha earthquake, has started.
Shrestha, also the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, said that the Law Ministry is active to formulate necessary laws for the people's rights, adding that the legal education system would be continued.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara said that the nation has adopted a foreign policy based on sovereignty, national integration and principle of Panchasheel, adding that the process to this effect were underway by forming a taskforce to bring clarity and uniformity in foreign policy.
The Foreign Minister said that the government has also adopted a policy for making a concept of development diplomacy needed for economic development of the country more effective. He also informed that discussions were underway at diplomatic level to organise 19th SAARC Summit.
DPM Mahara said that repair and maintenance of border pillars was underway and added that bilateral talks between Nepal and India were on to resolve inundation problem that occurs every year in Tarai districts bordering India in particular.
Similarly, Finance Minister Gyandendra Bahadur Karki said that the new budget would be fully implemented while pointing out that spending capital expenditure was necessary to make the country's economy viable. RSS
