The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today detained Navin Kumar Sharma, founder and director of the National Academy for Medical Education (NAME) in connection to the MBBS scholarship question leak issue.
Issuing a press statement, CIAA said Director of the MBBS examination preparation centre in Putalisadak was held after he obstructed on-going investigation into the question leak issue.
Sharma shouted at the Commission staff while they were presenting some detainees at the Special Court seeking remand yesterday, CIAA said.
Claiming that Sharma's activities are against Section 24 of CIAA Act, the anti-corruption constitutional body had detained him for further investigation.
Earlier on December 12, he was arrested for investigation, but was released a day later.
CIAA had raided a couple of institutions including NAME on December 7 in suspicion of their involved in the question leak.
On December 6, several people were arrested by the CIAA team on charge of selling the question papers of MBBS scholarship exams, conducted by the Ministry of Education, to aspiring students.
