Mount Annapurna Secondary School raises fund to help flood victim

Pokhara, July 8: The students enrolled at a school in Nadipur of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City have saved their day meal expenses to raise funds for a flood victim.

A total of 760 students from nursery level to grade XII at Mount Annapurna Secondary School donated Rs 40,000 to the flood victim.

A heavy downpour on July 1 triggered a flood which swept away the belongings of one Gopal Bahadur Rana, a tenant at Sipani Bazaar.

Rana, who has been working as an assistant driver at the school for the past 32 years, was provided Rs 35,500 by the teachers and employees and additional Rs 20,000 by the school's administration. The school's principal Saindra Shrestha donated Rs 7,000. RSS
