Kathmandu, Jan 14 (RSS): The Ministry of General Administration has begun the process for voluntary retirement for those employees unwilling to be part of the employees’ adjustment at three-levels.

The process followed the decision of the Council of Ministers towards that end, according to Ministry Spokesperson Shibaram Neupane. The Ministry has published the notice about this in the national gazette.

Any employee meeting criteria for voluntary retirement has been given 45 days since the publication of the notice to apply for the retirement. The Ministry has set up a separate unit to deal with the matter.

Those employees completing 20 years in service and those over 50 years of age are eligible for applying for voluntary retirement, according to Joint Secretary Neupane. Employees completing requirements for voluntary retirement shall get pension of seven years in lump sum and get pension in regular basis after that. Similarly, the suspended ones, those facing departmental action and not completing minimum service term following the completion of study leave shall not be included in the voluntary retirement package.
