​Ministry of Education (MoE) appeals for uninterrupted healthcare services

Kathmandu, Aug 3: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has appealed with the health care providers to continue rendering healthcare services, stating that the talks on agitating Dr Govinda KC's demands were being held.

Issuing a press statement here Thursday, the Ministry has urged them to bear in mind the sensitiveness of the issue as human health and not to halt the healthcare services in any health institutions across the country.

The senior orthopedic surgeon, Prof Dr Govinda KC, has been staging fast-unto-death for the 11th day demanding overall reforms in the health and medical education sector in the country. His hunger strike entered 11th day Thursday.

His also demands earliest endorsement of the National Medical Education Act and immediate appointment of the Assistant Dean at the Institution of Medicine (IOM) under the Tribhuvan University.

The Ministry also urged the agitating bachelor medico to end his hunger strike and join the talks with the government team. RSS
