Rasuwa, Jestha 26- Students of Gautam Buddha Secondary School, Naukunda Rural Municipality -3, Rasuwa face difficulty in the study due to delay in reconstruction of school which was damaged by the earthquake.

Students face difficulty in studies because the classes are still conducted in the temporary classes constructed with tins, which were constructed after the earthquake. “While conducting the classes both students and teachers face the fear that the wind can blow the classes at any time,” said teacher Laxmi Lamichhane.

Locals complain that the school administration is not interested to coordinate with concerned authorities for the reconstruction of the school.

“Apart from buildings, the school does not have proper provision for drinking water either,” said guardian Finjo Tamang. Similarly another guardian Gosai Tamang said, “other schools were reconstructed by coordinating with concerned authorities but reconstruction of this school is delayed due to which students face difficulty in the study.”

The principal of the school, Mr. Niranjan Bhujel said that different donors assured to reconstruct school building but no donors did the work. “Different donor agencies had given assurance for the reconstruction of this schools but nothing had been done till now. Now we hope that DFID will reconstruct our school,” said guardian Gosai Tamang.

Similarly, school teacher Laxmi Lamichhane said that the reconstruction of the school will be completed soon. A social organization which had previously constructed a six-roomed building is now leveling the construction site to construct the school building.
