The industrialists of Nepalgunj have requested the private and community schools here to avoid buying the school uniforms, stationery and other materials from across the border. Most of the schools of Banke district have been inviting tenders for differnet school materials such as tie, shoes and stationery from across the border. Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a program in which they have urged for bringing the trend of importing school materials form across the border to an end.
The industrialists have stressed on buying of the local products and promoting the national trade. People are more inclined to buy the things in the market beyond borders. The stuff range ffrom the goods of daily use to educational materials. Therefore, the businessmen have illuminated on the issue, to heed on the matter by the local people and buy the local goods.
They have also emphasized on the policy making for the promotion of the Nepali products. There is a delusion of Indian products being cheaper and of quality in the people. However, the industrialist claim that the Nepali products have grown in the quality and are low in cost as well. People need to understand and widen their thinking in trying the local products as well.
The local businessmen also say that Nepali people themselves do not trust in the products of the country. According to a local trader, only 10% of the school uniform is prepared by him whereas 90% is ordered from India.
