The forthcoming academic session of schools is likely to be affected due to lack of proper decision from the Ministry of Education. Every year about two crore books for the school level are published. According to the book publication directive, private sector has to be called for the publication through a tender. But no decision has been taken from the Education Ministry till now. Since two years, private sector has been entrusted with publishing books for the eastern and western region.
Janak Educational Material Centre is concerned for the other regions. According to the rules, all districts must receive the required amount of books by the end of Chaitra. Due to undecisive nature of the ministry this goal seems hard to be met. The Ministry spokesperson Janardan Nepal said that the discussions are going on and the decision will be taken as soon as possible. However,JEMC says that book have been published on a tentative basics and from this year it wants to publish books on the basics of accurate demand.
