The three major student alliances have announced for an indefinite term of strike against the 9th amendment of the Education Act.

The ANNFSU, NSU and ANNFSU (revolutionary) have jointly given a press release in which they have announced the educational strike for an indefinite term. Nabina Lama from ANNFSU, Nain Singh Mahar from NSU and Ranjit Tamang from ANNFSU (revolutionary) have signed in the press release.

Similarly, the hunger strike against the same 9th amendment of the Education Act by the students of the Education Faculty of TU has been going on in the Maitighar.

The students unions have stated that the first part of the strike will be to protest for one hour in front of all the colleges of the valley and then comprehensive protest in Maitighar Mandala accompanied by road blockading at 11:00 am on Chaitra 16. If the fist part of the strike does not compel the government to address the demands of the unions then an indefinite term protest would be launched, states president of ANNFSU Nabina Lama.

Earlier, the students had submitted a memorandum demanding the correction of the 9th amendment and cancellation of the Teachers’ Service Commission licensing examination that is going to be held in Chaitra 23.
