The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) is yet to publish the results of grade XI in absence of senior officials at the Board since the government has been unable to appoint officials at HSEB even after five months of earlier official’s resignation.
Students who appeared examination of class XI and are waiting for results are barred from joining the Bachelor level. In earlier years, HSEB used to publish the results of Class XI in October. But this year it was delayed by more than four months.
Not only results and affiliation giving process have been halted due to the absence of officials, the HSEB has not been able to monitor colleges, an employee of the HSEB said.
According to the employee, policy level work and administrative work has also been halted after the then vice-chairman, Hem kumar Mishra and member secretary Bhimlal Gurung resigned from their posts five months ago.
Employees of the HSEB blamed that the career of the students have been hampered due to the political conflict over the appointment of officials.
Till now the HSEB has had the image that it holds examinations and publishes results on time. This image will not continue after the delay, employees worried.
Hari Lamsal, spokesperson at the Ministry of Education, said they could not speak about the appointment because the issue is political. Lamsal said, “According to the Minister at the Ministry, they will appoint officials within a week”.
Meanwhile, Democratic University Teachers Association has padlocked HSEB from last Wednesday for an indefinite period with a demand of inclusive appointments.
Uday Tiwari, chairperson of the Association, informed that they would continue the padlocking till their demands were addressed.
