“We had some technical difficulties regarding implementation of the letter grading system. Many members of the board even said that this would have a negative impact on the quality of education, but we have decided to implement the grading system,” said Poudyal..

After the implementation of grading system for Grade XI this year, the system will also be implemented in Grade XII from next academic year. However, students appearing in back papers will be evaluated under the marking system..

The letter grading system has been in practice in the country for the last two years in Grade X examination, also known as Secondary Education Examinations. .
