The government on Sunday appointed five office bearers at the
National Academy of Medical Sciences (Nams) Bir Hospital . The post had
been lying vacant for several months.
The office bearers were appointed two day days after the appointment of vice-chancellor at the NAMS. Prime Minister Sushil Koirala had appointed Gurung as the vice-chancellor of the NAMS on Friday. Dr. Gurung is an orthopaedics surgeon at the Bir Hospital . Also read:

Around 300 resident doctors affiliated to the NAMS are on strike since July 27 demanding that the government fill these positions and provide basic medical equipments such as MRI, CT-scan and X-ray at the hospital.
